GreedFall 2 A New Evil – How To Cure The Villagers

GreedFall 2 A New Evil is one of the two quests you must complete to pass the Doneigad’s Initiation. It’s a lengthy task, during which you have to make several decisions.

How to Start and Complete the GreedFall 2 A New Evil Quest

After the combat tutorial, Mev tasks you with two quests: A New Evil and A Dying Forest. They are both mandatory quests, but the completion order doesn’t matter.

How to Find and Investigate the Fishing Spot

Follow the quest marker, leading to Toflan’s location. He will tell you about the mysterious illness and introduce you to the patients. Exhaust all the dialogue options and discover what all patients have in common: they visited a fishing location northeast of Vigeshvar.

To reach the fishing location, take the southern village exit and make your way east following the quest marker. Soon after leaving the village, the stealth tutorial begins. You will learn how to avoid the beasts by hiding in the red grass. You can kill the enemies if you want to practice combat, however, sparing all the Lewolan beasts you meet on the way will award you the Animal Lover trophy at the end of the initiation quest.

As soon as you reach the fishing spot, you will be introduced to the tracking mode. Search the glowing spots to find the first clues: the dead fish and the patches of bile. If you pass the survival skill check, follow the trail to the last clue. Should you fail the test, make your way north of the quest marker to find the Lewolan corpse. The next step of the investigation leads you to the mine.

GreedFall 2 A New Evil – How to Enter the Mine

Approach the quest marker and automatically trigger the conversation with the miners. During the interaction, you have three choices:

• Pass the diplomacy skill check to gain access to the mine the easy way.
• Ask Nilan to be quiet and enter the mine peacefully.
• Agree with Nilan and fight the miners.

The second choice is the safest course of action. Enter the mine, interact with the Mine Supervisor, and start the next objective. If you choose to fight the miners, you must find an alternative way into the mine. Take the path to the left and fight your way through, or use stealth to get inside the mine area. As soon as you enter, talk to the Mine Supervisor to continue the quest.

The Mine Supervisor informs you about a theft and gives you two choices:

• Find the thieves.
• Prove the natives’ innocence.

The recommendation is to take up the second offer and obtain the mine key. The alternative is to enter the mine without the key, but that can be quite difficult at this level. The next part of the GreedFall 2 A New Evil quest requires you to investigate the storeroom.

Investigate the glowing spots to discover four clues: the lock, the bow, the tracks, and the leaves. Feel free to loot the chest if you can pick the lock. Return to the Miner Supervisor and obtain the mine key.

How to Free the Trapped Miners

Unlock the mine entrance and proceed into the mine. Follow the linear path and you will walk into a confrontation between a miner and a native. Resolve the conflict peacefully by passing the diplomacy skill check. If you fail the check, you must defeat the miner. Continue further into the mine until you reach the trapped miners. The dynamite you need to break the wall is in a chest in the nearby Bridge Alliance area.

The recommendation is to sneak past the Bridge Alliance soldiers and steal the explosives. If you’re feeling confident in your combat skills, you can defeat the soldiers, however, the encounter is quite tough at this level. After collecting the dynamite, exit the restricted area as soon as possible. The soldiers will not pursue you once you are out of the area. Use the dynamite to destroy the wall and free the miners. Don’t stand too close to the wall, as you will get caught in the explosion. Once the miners are free, return to the Mine Supervisor and collect your reward.

Shut Down the Mine and Complete the GreedFall 2 A New Evil Quest

Make your way to the eastern side of the Lake Region to arrive at the fort. Speak with the captain and then with the doctor. Wait for the doctor to analyze the samples and collect the Quicksilver Poisoning Treatment. The next objective is to shut down the mine. There are three ways to complete this task:

• Talk to the Mine Supervisor.
• Talk to the miners.
• Forge a document. You will need the seal from the fort captain’s building. Sneak in through the back door and steal the steal.

All methods are viable, however, the third one will take a long time. Return to Toflan and hand in the treatment to cure the villagers and complete the GreedFall 2 A New Evil quest.
