The second side story for Gaul in Monster Hunter Stories 3 Twisted Reflection is A Request From Kol. As long as you have completed the Forbidden Ground main quest and have a base in Sheparden, you can attempt this side quest.
How to Complete A Request from Kol in Monster Hunter Stories 3
Speak with Gaul, and there will be a cut scene. You need to go talk with Kol in Sheparden. Your goal is to find a lost villager. But first, find the group of Felyne who went to look for him. Do this by going to Cataracts Lookout Point.
They will point you to Mt. Canalta where the Yian Garuga habitat is. There is a Catavan stand you can teleport to if you’ve unlocked that. As long as you have, teleport there and climb up to the spot on your map.
On the mountain, there is a clue. The villager has likely fallen into a hole, and you have to go after them.
The Frozen Grotto Clues
Drop into the hole right below the ledge. There will be several clues inside the frozen grotto for you to find.
The three clues will help you find the villager. The fourth clue is very important because it gives you the direction you need to go.
You will find the lost villager at the end of the path. He is unable to get away because of the monstie. Defeat the monstie to save the villager. It’s weak to almost all elements, so it shouldn’t be a difficult fight.
