Gaul’s Unexpected Side Job is the first of Gaul’s side quests in Monster Hunter Stories 3 Twisted Reflection. To attempt this quest, make sure you have already completed Amara’s Child.
How to Complete Gaul’s Unexpected Side Job in Monster Hunter Stories 3
First, go talk to Gaul to active the quest. After the cutscene, head to the Sunpetal Plains Camp and speak to the man. There will be a quest marker, which is the first place you need to go to. An injured man waits near the water. Talk to him, and he explains that Gaul’s companions were attacked by a Ludroth and need help.
Go to Broadleaf Basin Lookout Point to speak with Georgio. He further explains that one of their companions was actually grabbed by the Ludroth! Using a monstie who can swim, go to Mirror Lake Catavan Stand where you will spot Nazner.
Approach the area to trigger a cutscene, then jump straight into the long-awaited fight against the Purple Ludroth. Once you beat this monstie, you will be able to finish the quest and gain the reward.
Fighting the Purple Ludroth
The Purple Ludroth is weak to fire and thunder while being resistant to water, ice, and dragon moves. It can poison you with its moves, so make sure you have potions to heal you when you succumb to it. Use speed-based attacks when the monstie is in a normal state, then switch to power attacks once it becomes enraged in battle. This way you have a better chance of beating it.
Eventually, you will be able to beat the Purple Ludroth. Just be mindful of its poison moves as previously mentioned. There will be a cutscene you have to sit through. The reward for finishing Gaul’s Unexpected Side Job is the Lifepowder Recipe.
