The Aberrant Atrocity is a side quest in (MHWI) Monster Hunter Wilds . Which you can collect from Rove. A Lynian NPC, who also acts as a trade and quest giver. This specific quest relates to having to slay a Frenzied Yian Kut-Ku
It is generally required to be around Hunter Rank 16 or higher. So continue playing through the main story until you reach that. From there you should be able to activate the quest.
How to Start the Aberrant Atrocity Quest In Monster Hunter Wilds
To start this quest you need to talk to Rove, the well spoken Felyne, at the cliffs base camp. They lament about a violent monster lurking around and needs you to look into it. Rove suspects that the monster is a Yian Kut-Ku and can be located in the Iceshard cliffs.
A Yian Kut-Ku is a bird wyvern who has extremely good hearing and will not hesitate to burn you if provoked! Its weakness is thunder and ice, so you’ll want to focus on attacks that deal with those elements. When you see the Yian Kut-Ku it reminds you of what a dinosaur could’ve looked like if they were around today. Cool, but very terrifying!
How To Slay The Frenzied Yian Kut-Ku And Complete The Quest
To complete Aberrant Atrocity go to the Iceshard Cliffs to hunt the Frenzied Yian Kut-Ku causing all this trouble. After successfully hunting the monster, go back to the Cliffs Base Camp and report to Rove to get your reward! Rove gives you 5 ancient Wyvern coins and 2 gracium. Both of these are very useful items for your game.
Gracium is a material that can be used for crafting and upgrading equipment. Meanwhile the Ancient Wyvern is a rare item that can be used for item trades with villagers in Monster Hunter Wilds. Makes completing this side quest totally worth it.
