Monster Hunter Wilds – Flash Course (Flashfly Cage)

(MH Wilds) Monster Hunter Wilds

The side-quest in (MHWI) Monster Hunter Wilds Flash Course directly follows Healing Help. It’s a side mission that is given to you by your Palico automatically after you finish the previous mission.

As with all side-quests, this is completely optional, but we recommend completing it if not just for the rewards. Besides, who doesn’t want to help out their little Palico friend?

How to Start Flash Course And Unlock Flashfly Cage In Monster Hunter Wilds MHWI

In this quest your Palico doesn’t need anything as creepy as a Vigorwasp. Instead, it wants you to capture some Flashflies. By getting its little paws on some Flashflies it will be able to create a support move that will end up blinding monsters. Pretty nifty, eh?

Unlike Healing Help where you have to go to any base camp and talk to your Palico first, you don’t have to do that with the Flash Course quest because its automatically assigned. Pretty useful when that happens!

With the quest given to you, you can go on and try to catch some flashflies with your net!

How to Complete This Side-Quest

Unlocking the Flashfly Cage ability in Palico Flash Course quest

Flashflies are sort of like fireflies but bigger– much bigger. They can be found a number of places in Monster Hunter Wilds including: Iceshard Cliffs, Oliwell Basin, Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, or Ruins of Wyveria.

Now go ahead and use your capture net to grab a Flashfly whenever you are ready. Once you get this almost cute big, you can go back to the base camp and talk to your Palico. The reward for finishing this quest is 10 flash pods. You also will learn the Flashfly Cage support move after finishing this quest, which be useful in future hunts. Next up is Rath-from-Above Go!
