Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl stamina is a crucial character attribute as it determines your ability to perform various actions. Let’s see how you can manage your stamina!
How Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl Stamina Works
Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl is a survival game, meaning that you have to keep a close eye on Skif’s hunger, thirst, and energy levels. Actions such as running, moving, jumping, and melee attacks consume stamina, depleting your energy.

The game has a huge game world and no vehicles to help you traverse it. This means that you will walk to get from one place to another. If you don’t know how to handle this mechanism Skif will become fatigued, move slower, and lose the ability to sprint. Low stamina also affects melee combat, as your attacks will be less powerful. Stamina regenerates over time when standing still or walking, but you cannot just sit and wait for it to go back to normal. That’s where stamina management comes in.
Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl Stamina Regeneration
There are three things you can do to ensure your stamina doesn’t fully deplete:
- Weight management.
- Drink consumables.
- Use artifacts.
Weight Management
Skif’s carrying capacity is limited. Items have an associated weight. If the total weight of your carried items exceeds the character’s carry limit, Skif becomes encumbered, slowing him down and impacting stamina regen.

Here is what happens to your energy level based on how much you carry:
- Under 50 kg. No impact on stamina depletion and regeneration.
- 50-70 kg. Slower stamina regeneration.
- 70-80 kg. Significantly slower stamina regeneration and impaired movement.
- Over 80 kg. The character cannot move at all.
With these numbers in mind, pay attention to your carry limit. Use the stash to store items and sell whatever items you don’t need to prevent your bag from being filled with unnecessary things. You should also use items that increase your carrying capacity.
Drink Water and Energy Consumables
Water and energy drinks are two must-have consumables in your bag at all times.
Water gives a moderate amount of stamina, reduces hunger by a bit, and decreases the stamina stamina cost.

Energy Drinks restore a good amount of stamina and improve the regen rate. On the other hand, they increase hunger.

How to acquire water and energy drinks:
- Buy from vendors.
- Loot from defeated enemies.
- Find them while exploring.
You should favor water over energy drinks because it doesn’t impact hunger. Save the energy drinks for crucial moments, such as during combat or when you are about to pass out. For example, while doing the Poppy Field side quest, you must consume energy drinks to prevent you from feinting in that location.
Use Endurance Artifacts
Artifacts are items with various effects. They impact stamina in two ways:
- Improve stamina regeneration.
- Increase Skif’s maximum stamina.

You can find artifacts while exploring anomaly fields. The Battery is an artifact that increases stamina, but also increases radiation, so make sure to always take into account the side effects.
