Wuchang Fallen Feathers – How to Unlock Dream’s Sweet Deceit Ending and Trophy

The Wuchang Fallen Feathers true ending has many prerequisites. Here are the choices and interactions you must achieve in each game area to unlock this highly missable conclusion.

Chapter 1 Worship’s Rise

Begin the game and reach Shu Sanctum, where you will meet Zhao Yun, the White-Robed Elder. Interact with him and begin his quest line. You must complete all interactions and optional quests for this NPC throughout the game. Proceed with the main mission, reach the Tang Palace, and unlock the next game area.

Chapter 2 Cloudspire

Start the chapter, but do not go to Mt. Zhenwu, as you will miss mandatory quests. Instead, go to Cloudspire Outskirts. When you get to Hillswatch, collect the Shu Silk Scarf by using the Examine emote on the grave. At some point, you will be asked to fight Ai Nengqi. Refuse and light the beacons to lower the drawbridge.

While working on this task, you will meet Zhao Yun and complete another mission for him. After lowering the drawbridge, defeat Ming General and go to Cloudspire City. The next important interaction is with Fang Yao. You will meet her after killing the enemy knocking on the door. Give her the Shu Silk Scarf and she will ask you to free her sister, Fang Ling, from the Snowfall Palace. While working on this task, you will come across He Youzai. Discover Fang Ling’s fate and complete the next sequence to obtain Fang Yao‘s Light Gown and Hairband.

Interact with the Storyteller and go to Mt. Zhenwu, where you will eventually run into Zhao Yun. Talk to him and continue towards the Refugee Camp. Interact with He Youzai and Fang Yao. If you’ve completed Cloudspire City and Snowfall Palace, proceed to the next area.

Chapter 3

Early into Chapter 3, you will meet Zhao Yun. Complete his task to defeat the Bo Sorcerer. Travel to the Avian Dwelling shrine to meet Zhao Yun again and receive the Tigraliz Pendant reward. Complete Zhenwu Temple and you will eventually reach the point of no return. The Storyteller will ask you if you want to continue. Finish all the side quests before going further.

Chapter 4 Worship’s Rise in Ruins

You start Chapter 4 at the Annalum. Leave the building and interact with Fang Yao and He Youzai. Go to the Reverent Temple and talk to Fang Yo to receive the Ring of Samsara – Cause. In the temple, you will meet He Youzai and collect the Ring of Samsara – Effect after talking to him. As you head to the Burning Cave, you will run into Xuanyangzi. Choose the “Remain silent” option when he asks for the Jade Feather Chisel. Giving him the item will lock you out of the true ending. Defeat the Dragon Emperor and start Chapter 5.

Chapter 5 Bo Capital – Unlock the Dream’s Sweet Deceit Ending

After starting Chapter 5, go to the Avian Dwelling and defeat Eternal Glory to receive the Cyan Feather Chisel. Return to the Bo Capital and find the Capital Depths shrine. Select “The wheel turns anew” and reach the Shrine Dwelling, where you will face the Demon of Obsession. Defeat the boss and use the altar to merge the two Samsara rings into Ring of Samsara – Rebirth. The item appears as a consumable in your bags. Do not use it. It is a key item towards unlocking the Wuchang Fallen Feathers true ending.

Consume the ring ONLY if you wish to unlock the Bound by Fate’s Threads ending. Doing so will lock you out of the Dream’s Sweet Deceit trophy and ending. You have the option to save your game and reload to get both trophies and endings in one playthrough.

Proceed with the game and defeat Feathery Ambition Xuanyangzi. Interact with the Gate and enter the Realm of Dreams to finish the game and unlock the most complex ending.
