In Assassins Creed Shadows there are plenty of side quests and From the Ashes is one of those that you are able to complete. One of the interesting things about this quest is that it lets you reunite with an old friend from Iga who is still going strong!

Starting From the Ashes Quest Requires A Trip Back Home
If you’ve already done Naoe’s quests that require her to look into the past, such as Before The Fall quest. Which requires you to visit the Kuji-kiri shrines. Then you will know that Matsu plays a big part in her life. Imagine how happy she must be to realize she is alive? The old, feisty woman managed to survive the massacre at Iga so what should you do? Well, go find her of course!
To start this quest, you can go near the Mibuno Vale area in Iga to look for the From the Ashes quest marker. When you are in Naoe’s old residence, you will find a message from Matsu indicating that she is alive.
Follow her directions which leads you to Hinotani Shrine in Iga. Here you will find Matsu.
Finding Matsu To Complete The Quest
It’s pretty easy to find Matsu. Just go to the shrine and look for her. Talk to Matsu and after a brief hug and talk, Matsu will be sending you on another quest so be prepared. This quest line will not be over quite yet.

- Good For What Ails You
- Shadows and Light
It looks like you will be spending some time in Iga after finally reuniting with Matsu.
