Death Stranding 2 Healing is a mechanic that allows Sam to restore HP. Dying in DS2 doesn’t only impact you, but also the nearby environment via the voidout mechanic. Let’s see what you can do to keep yourself alive!
Death Stranding 2 Healing Mechanics
Healing is a key aspect if you want to complete your tasks and get maximum rewards. The dying penalty in DS 2 is quite severe as you trigger a voidout, an explosion that leaves a crater in its wake. Voidouts are harmful to the environment, so you will want to avoid dying at all costs. Luckily, you have a few methods to make sure that doesn’t happen too often.
HP Restoring Methods Methods
The game offers three ways to restore HP:
- Blood Bags.
- Cryptobiotes.
- Sleeping.
Blood Bags
Blood Bags represent the best healing method. These consumables can be picked up while exploring. However, you shouldn’t rely on what the environment offers you. Sam can craft Blood Bags. It takes 15 Chiral Crystals and 10 Resins to create one. You can make them at a safe house within the Chiral Network. Blood Bags can be used in combat, so they will come in handy when facing BTs. They have one more important property. If you are carrying Blood Bags, the Blood Bullets will draw from the bag instead of Sam’s HP.
Cryptobiotes
Cryptobiotes are another way to restore HP. You can collect them while exploring. Search for them around the red corals. Use the scan area function and collect them when you get close. If you are in no immediate danger, use Cryptobiotes instead of Blood Bags. There’s one Cryptobiote in your Private Room as well.
Sleeping in Your Private Room
A good rest in your Private Room restores HP. Obviously, you cannot use this method all the time, but take advantage of your room whenever you can. Don’t forget that your room also has a shower facility, which offers a nice and easy way to get some Chiral Crystals.
