How to Safely Fly the Dune Awakening Ornithopter in the Deep Desert
Once you have this iconic Dune aircraft, you can go to the end-game area, the Deep Desert, for challenging PvE content and intense PvP fights. The desert is bountiful, as you can extract spice and other late-game materials from this dangerous area. The Sandworms roam the desert, but your fellow players pose an equal, if not greater, challenge, especially if you are a peaceful PvE player looking to mine some spice.
How to Prepare
Preparation is crucial if you want to venture into the PvP side of the desert and come back in one piece. Make sure you have enough fuel. Should you run out of it, you won’t be able to fly at high altitude. Check out the map and decide beforehand where you want to go. Wandering around aimlessly will attract unwanted attention. It’s a good idea to go as high as you can and scout the area before landing.
Dune Awakening Ornithopter Flying Techniques
Fuel management should be a priority. Vulture Glide mode is the most fuel-efficient way of flying. You will want to always go at maximum glide speed. Hold your Shift key to activate Vulture mode.
No one likes a fast-moving target. If PvPers see you flying fast, they might think twice about going after you. Flying at high altitude is another good survival technique. Sometimes, even with all the precautions taken, some players will still consider you a viable target.
How to Escape PvP Pursuits
First of all, keep calm and fly straight. You might think that turning or changing direction is a good strategy to outmaneuver the pursuer. Keep flying at maximum speed and don’t turn, as that can open up a possibility for interception. Maneuvers will also cause you to drop speed, losing your biggest advantage. Should you need to change course, do it as softly as possible and avoid sudden moves.
