Dune Awakening has an enemy that is literally going to make you quake in your boots and it’s Sandworms. A Sandworm can, literally, appear whenever you are traveling in the desert. It has the ability to sense your footsteps thanks to the vibrations. Should they swallow you well… read on to find out!
How to Avoid a Sandworm In Dune Awakening
One thing to understand is that Sandworms can’t be killed and nor can you ride them. If you try, you will be eaten. So what is the best thing to do? Well, the best thing to do is to avoid them entirely, of course!
Here are some tips to help you avoid them the best you can.
- When traveling in Dune Awakening, use rocky ground like stepping stones, for example
- If you do travel on the sand, consider crouching because it causes less vibration. Sprinting will alert them to your presence in a matter of minutes. Should the worm emerge then you need to head for rocky ground.
- A vehicle can help but it can’t outrun the sandworm forever. A flying vehicle is probably the better way to go rather than a land one.
- Crossig the burger can ensure the sandworms won’t follow you. Also travelling at night won’t make a difference because the sandworms can still find you.
- Bene Gesserit Bindu Sprint skill or the Trooper’s Shigawire Claw can assist you in finding safety.
What happens if a Sandworm Eats You
You can do everything right in Dune Awakening but still end up getting eaten by a Sandworm. Sadly, these things just happen so all you can do is accept that you will be swallowed whole.
The good news is that after a sandworm eats you, you’ll get a worm tooth to craft something. You’ll also respawn back at either a respawn beacon or checkpoint. Now for the bad news. Everything in your backpack, your equipment, and even your vehicle if you were driving one will be gone if a sandworm eats you. There is no getting it back.
