Ghost of Yotei Shamisen Songs Locations

To be able to play songs, you must first learn to master the musical instrument. Atsu will complete the Shamisen tutorial during the Prologue. Once you start the game, you can learn all eight songs by completing quests and interacting with NPCs.

How to Play the Shamisen in Ghost of Yotei

During the Prologue, approach your mother and trigger the Shamisen practice scene. Drag your finger along the touchpad to start playing. (Playstation)

Keep your eyes on Atsu’s hand. When the hand is glowing, hold your finger on the pad and the song will play. Once the tutorial is over, you can play songs after unlocking them.

How to Learn All Songs and Unlock the Like Mother, Like Daughter Trophy

Atsu’s Song

You will learn Atsu’s Song from your mother during the Prologue. Story Related

Song of Well-Being – Ishikari Plain

This Shamisen practice location is along the coast.

Effect: Reveals Hot Spring locations.

Song of Vanity – Teshio Ridge

To learn the Song of Vanity, make your way west of the Red Crane Inn.

Effect: Reveals Vanity Gear locations.

Song of Revenge – Tokachi Range

Go to the Musician’s Camp and make a donation to the NPC. Start playing for him and follow the musician to a nearby location. Build a fire and complete the interaction to learn the Song of Revenge.

Effect: Reveals Yotei Six Camp locations.

Song of Ainu – Yubari Lake

Go to the Ainu Musician’s Camp in Yubari Lake and interact with the NPC to start The Soul of an Instrument side quest. Complete the quest and unlock the next one, A Melody of Thoughts. Travel to the marked location and talk to the musician to learn the Song of the Ainu.

Effect: Reveals Ainu Items.

Song of Spirit – Yotei Grasslands

Go to Master Heijiro’s Garden and interact with the pad to trigger a memory from your past and the Master of the Shamisen side tale. Complete the tale to learn the Song of Spirit.

Effect: Reveals Bamboo Strike locations.

Song of Wolf

The Song of the Wolf is automatically unlocked after completing four Wolf Dens.

Effect: Reveals Wolf Den locations.

Song of Shrines

You will learn the Song of the Shrines from an NPC that randomly appears when Atsu makes camp. You may also find the NPC at his camp while exploring.

Effect: Reveals Shrine climb locations.
