Ghost of Yotei Sumi-E – All Sumi-E Painting Locations

Ghost of Yotei has several challenges and one of them lets Atsu do some Sumi-E Painting! This painting technique translates to ink painting and focuses on capturing nature. These are completely optional but think of the reward!

List of Sumi-E Locations in Ghost of Yotei

In total, there are 18 Sumi-E locations. Finding the first fifteen will earn you the An Artist’s Eye trophy achievement. Meaning you do not need to collect them all..

1. Careful Pincers Sumi-e In Ghost Of Yotei

Found in the Southern coast, next to a costal dueling tree. Reward is Hat of Curiosity.

2. Plum Crane Sumi-e In Ghost Of Yotei

This one is near Shikotsu River, west of Atsu’s old home. Reward is Headband of Loss.

3. Mount Yotei Sumi-e In Ghost Of Yotei

Near the edge of the blooming ridge shrine. Reward is Headband of Yotei.

4. Chasing Frogs Sumi-e In Ghost Of Yotei

In Lake Jozan, it’s by a spot near the lake. Reward is Hat of Youth.

5. Crashing Waves Sumi-e In Ghost Of Yotei

Found in Otaru Beach. Head southeast of Ishikari Plain to Otaru Beach. At the coast, climb the rope-linked boulders to reach the painting site. Reward is Headband of Defiance.

6. Defiant Roots Sumi-e 

Near the Rumoi River, look for a high ground overlooking the purple fields. Reward is Headband of Fortitude.

7. Chatting Crows Sumi-e 

Near the abandoned fishing camp. Follow the Nakagoya Spring east of Ishikari Plain to the Abandoned Fishing Camp. The painting site is nearby. Reward is Hat of Messengers.

8. Free Skies Sumi-e 

In the Ohara plains on higher ground. Reward is Mask of Freedom.

9. Season’s Colors Sumi-e 

In the Tomamu Marshlands next to a dueling tree. Reward is Headband of the Seasons.

10. Peaceful Kotan Sumi-e 

On the Niptay Mountain, follow the flower road then climb the mountain. Reward is Mask of Community.

11. Drying Bark Sumi-e 

Found in Iwor Woods, you need to follow the stream of Nayoro falls to the east. The painting spot itself will be near a bamboo house. Reward is Headband of Tranquility.

12. Frozen Moment Sumi-e 

Follow the Teshio River west to the area beside the Black Dye House to find the painting site. Reward is Mask of Slumber.

13. Howling Pack Sumi-e 

To find this Sumi-e near the Enduring Hold shrine, go past Sentinel forest. There will be a ledge near the shrine. Reward is Headband of the Wild.

14. Lost Flight Sumi-e 

The Lost Flight Sumi-e is in the Atago Rice fields near a bamboo strike . Reward is Mask of Remembrance.

15. Imperial Sakura Sumi-e 

This Sumi-e can be found in a garden that is inside the protection of Matsumae Castle . Reward is Hat of Refinement.

16. Sensei Tale: The Way of the Yari Sumi-e 

This Sumi-e is automatically done during the Sensei Tale: The way of the Yari Quest.

17 & 18. Side Tale: Memories of Home Sumi-e 

The final two Sumi-E Tales are automatically done during the Side Tale: Memories of Home.
