Gothic Remake Out of Sight is a side quest that will help you complete your first main objective. Thorus, the castle gate guard, wants you to get rid of Mordrag.

How to Start and Complete the Gothic Remake Out of Sight Quest
Head towards the castle gate and Thorus will stop you once you attempt to go through.
To trigger the Out of Sight quest, you must exhaust all the dialogue lines with Thorus. Once you explore all six dialogue options, Thorus asks you to get rid of Mordrag. He simply tells you that he wants Mordrag out of the camp. It’s your choice how you handle the mission. There are three ways to deal with Mordrag:
- Scare Mordrag.
- Allow Mordrag to lead you to the New Camp.
- Kill Mordrag.
How to Scare Mordrag Out of the Old Camp
The dialogue lines that lead to this path are:
- This camp is too small for the two of us.
- You stole from the ore barons.
This choice leads to a fight against Mordrag, but he doesn’t die. After you give him a good beating, he returns to the New Camp. Mordrag doesn’t escort you to the New Camp and you don’t obtain his ring. You receive 100 XP and you can immediately return to Thorus and tell him the job is done, ending the Gothic Remake Out of Sight quest.
How to Make Mordrag Escort You to the New Camp
The dialogue options that lead to this path are:
- You have a problem.
- Say I wanted to join you guys.
- Take me to the New Camp.
Mordrag offers to take you to the New Camp. You can simply follow him, as he will take care of all the enemies along the way. Once you reach the New Camp, he gives you his ring. Mordrag doesn’t return to the Old Camp, so you can return to Thorus to complete the mission.
Gothic Remake Out of Sight – How to Kill Mordrag
If you want Mordrag’s ring and all of his loot for yourself, you must kill him. Keep in mind that keeping the ring might prevent you from joining the New Camp. However, Mordrag carries nice loot, which is quite helpful, especially in the beginning.
If you decide to kill Mordrag, tell him to take you to the New Camp. Don’t start a fight in the Old Camp, as other NPCs will intervene. Follow him to the New Camp and don’t get in the way when he fights the hostiles. Wait until he is low on HP, finish him off, and loot him.
Should You Keep Mordrag’s Ring or Give It to Lares?
The ring comes with a +5 Dexterity boost. You can also sell it for 65 ore nuggets. If you want to join the New Camp as soon as possible, give the ring to Lares. You will unlock the A Piece of the Pie quest and make some progress into the Admission to the New Camp quest. Lares doesn’t care how you got the ring, so you can still hand it over, even if you killed Mordrag. So, if you want to unlock more quests, give the ring to Lares. If you want a dexterity boost, keep the ring.
