Gothic Remake The Amulet is an early side quest in the Old Camp. At the end of this quest, you will have to decide between killing Grim or sparing his life. Let’s see what you must do to start and complete the quest!
How to Start and Complete the Gothic Remake The Amulet Quest
The Amulet quest becomes available after your first interaction with Bloodwyn. You will run into Bloodwyn as you explore the Old Camp. Bloodwyn usually patrols the area around the North Gate.
You may find him to the right of the North Gate, close to Graham, or next to Herek. As soon as you walk past him, Bloodwyn asks you to pay 10 ore nuggets as a protection fee. Refuse his offer to trigger the quest.
How to Defeat Grim and His Friends
Wait for one day and go find Grim, the NPC that starts the Gothic Remake The Amulet quest.
Grim proposes that you join him outside the camp to collect a valuable amulet. Accept his offer, but don’t go with him just yet. Get a weapon, prepare for combat, and save your game before telling Grim you are ready. You don’t have to complete the quest right away, so take your time finding a better weapon, preferably a ranged one and some arrows. Grim will lead you to an ambush and you might lose your life, loot, and game progress. You have to fight Grim and two other NPCs, but luckily, there are a few ways to deal with them. Tell Grim you are ready and let him escort you outside of the camp. Fight Grim and his friends and defeat them.
Using a bow works best, as you can kite them around. You can also let the nearby beasts take care of them. Once you trigger the ambush, continue along the path and you will run into some scavengers that will also attack Grim and his friends. Keep running in circles, allowing the scavengers to weaken your enemies before you finish them off.
Another way to deal with the trio is to run past Grim towards the ambush location. Quickly deal with his two friends, return to Grim, and follow him until you trigger the ambush. This method allows you to fight him alone.
Gothic Remake The Amulet Ending – Should You Kill or Spare Grim?
Once Grim is unconscious, you either kill or spare him:
- Spare Grim – He will return to the Old Camp and keep annoying you. Should you decide to spare his life, make sure to loot him first.
- Kill Grim – You eliminate a threat. There are no serious consequences for killing him.
The choice is yours, but getting rid of him for good is the best way to end The Amulet quest.
