The side quest Ulbert’s Storage Shed in Gothic Remake requires you to go to the Old Mine to speak with Aleph. It’s the only way to get your hands on the chest Ulbert is guarding. To convince Aleph to help you, you’ll have to resort to some old-fashioned bribery.
How to Complete Ulbert’s Storage Shed in Gothic Remake
Head to the old mine. From the entrance, walk down two thin planks side by side and climb down the ladder. Talk to Ulbert, who is guarding a chest. The only way to start the quest is to offer him a drink, so make sure you have beer to give him.
Now that Ulbert has his thirst quenched, he’ll mention Aleph, which means that you need to go speak to Aleph. Maybe talking to him will help you get into the shed.
Looking for Aleph
Go back up the ladder and the way you came. Go past the two thin planks, then go straight ahead. At the end of the path, take a left.
Follow the path, and you’ll reach a fork in the road. Go left. It’ll take you through this thin cavern. Keep to the right until you find a ladder.
Walk to the edge of the cliff and jump down to speak to Aleph. Ask about the key for storage. He won’t give up the information. You’ll have to make it worth his time. If you give him 30 nuggets, you’ll get the key, but 50 nuggets will earn you the key and a ring of power. But it’s not necessary to give him 50 nuggets. 30 will get it done. Choice is yours..
Go back to Ulbert and tell him that Ian sent you. This will let you unlock the chest, which contains 5 torches, 2 iron, and 2 light scrolls.
