Octopath Traveler 0 comes with returning characters from Champions of the Continent CotC, a mobile game released back in 2020. This includes Alaune, Bargello, Eltrix, Isla, Richard, Rondo, Sazantos, and Solon. Not to be confused with Octopath Traveler Original Characters and Returning characters. This is quite a multitude character roster that will keep you busy in trying to recruit them all

Where to Find the Champions of the Continent Characters in Octopath Traveler 0 CotC
There are eight characters from Champions of the Continent that return for this game in total. Many of them are available after finishing certain chapters.
Alaune – Champions of the Continent CotC
Alaune, The ruler of the Kingdom of Edoras will join you as a companion in this game provided you are able to complete the prerequisite. All you have to do is complete Bestower of All Chapter three and she will join you.
Bargello – Champions of the Continent Characters CotC
Bargello is an ambitious yet levelheaded man who was able to overthrow Herminia through sheer skill alone. During Bestower of All Chapter Two, Lord Bargello will join you automatically so there really isn’t much for you to do.
Eltrix – Champions of the Continent Characters CotC
Eltrix is a captain whose father is Duke Benedict. During Bestower of All Chapter 5, Captain Eltrix will automatically join you alongside Solon the Wise King.
Isla
Isla is a Cait scholar and one of the eight cait sages. To get Isla, you’ll need to collect all five letter fragments in the game to be able to get the secret invitation.
Richard
Richard is the crown prince of the Riverlands Kingdom of Riven. After Bestower of All Chapter One, Richard will join you automatically.
Rondo
Rondo, also known as Knight Ardante, is a knight. Once you complete Bestower of All Chapter 4, Rondo will join you.
Sazantos
The character Sazantos will take you awhile to be able to get and unlock. Once you finish the game, load your clear save data and get the true ending. This will let you get Sazantos.
Solon
Solon is the current ruler of the Highlands. During Bestower of All Chapter 5, Solon the Wise King will join you aside Captain Eltrix. It’s automatic.
Now go forth and recruit those characters.
