The Octopath Traveler 0 Companions list includes the cast from the original game. All eight companions are ready for a new adventure. This includes; Tressa, Therion, Primrose, Alfyn, Olberic, H’aanit, Ophilia, and Cyrus

How to Recruit the Original Characters as Octopath Traveler 0 Companions
To unlock these eight companions, you need to complete their associated side quests. Check the map and recognize companion missions by the description that says “an encounter awaits”. Octopath Traveler 0 companion side quests become available after completing certain main missions.

How To Unlock Tressa
To unlock Tressa start and complete the Woodlands side story, Rekindling of the Flame Part 1. The second part of this mission sends you to Rippletide. Make your way to the eastern side of the town to find Olneo, Tressa’s father. Talk to him and initiate the companion quest An Encounter with Tressa, allowing you to unlock this character.
How To Unlock Therion
In order to unlock Therion proceed with the story until you start the Master of All main quest in Chapter 3. Make your way to the town of Cragspears and head to the northern side of the settlement. A merchant near the king’s statue has a quest for you. Speak with him to start An Encounter with Therion side quest.
Primrose
In order to unlock Primrose is Octopath Traveler 0 you will need to complete the Master of All main quest in Chapter 4. Go the Sunshade and enter the tavern, where you will find Primrose. Interact with her and start An Encounter with Primrose side mission. This Octopath Traveler 0 Companions mission pits you against a powerful enemy, so make sure you are ready before starting the mission.
Alfyn
To recruit Alfyn, you first must complete the Master of All and Trial of the Ring main quests. Make your way east of Clearbrook and discover the Path of Waterpool Caves area. As soon as you approach the quest marker, a cutscene, followed by a combat encounter, will begin.
How to Unlock the Original Octopath Traveler Characters
Olberic
To unlock Olberic you need to complete the Master of All and Trial of the Ring main quests. Go to Shepherd Rocks and explore the northeastern side of the town to find Ivan. Talk to him and start An Encounter with Olberic side quest.
H’aanit
Complete the Bestower of Power and Bestower of Fame main quests in the Prologue, then start the Bestower of Wealth main quest in Chapter 2. Head to Victors Hollow and find Z’aanta in the tavern to start An Encounter with H’aanit.
Ophilia
Complete the three main quests Bestower of Power, Bestower of Fame, and Bestower of Wealth in Chapter 2. Go to the Cathedral Entrance in Flamesgrace and talk to Ophilia. The Encounter with Ophilia side quest includes a boss battle, so prepare accordingly before starting this Octopath Traveler 0 Companions side mission.
Cyrus
The Encounter with Cyrus side quest is a short one, but you’ll have to make significant progress in the story to unlock it. Complete all three main Bestower of Power/Fame/Wealth quests in Chapter 3. The quest to recruit Cyrus begins in Atlasdam Flats.
