Octopath Traveler 0 comes with a wide variety of companions to recruit, including some new characters. As well as some past, reoccurring characters too. Some of the past characters making a return includes; Tressa, Therion, Primrose and more.. However, of course, being, essentially, a follow-up title there are new companions too. Such as; Stia, Phenn, Laurana, Celsus, Macy, Alexia, Viator, Ludo, Carinda, Pius, Xerc and more! A total of 18 new companions. Don’t get confused with the multitude of character companions!

Where to Find the New Characters in Octopath Traveler 0
Out of all the characters available to recruit in Octopath Traveler 0, eighteen of them are new.
Stia
When you are at the ruins of Wishvale, talk to Stia which begins the Flames of Restoration quest. You need to build the workshop, which includes removing rubble, collecting wood, and then building it with Stia.
After you choose fame, money, or power as your influence, she joins your party.
Phenn
Phenn becomes available during the Kindlers of the Flame quest. When you are at Snowshard Grotto, talk with Phenn. You’ll have to rescue him from some enemies, but if you do you gain a companion. Just make sure you go back to Wishvale to talk to him otherwise he won’t be an official part of your party, until then..
Laurana
Laurana will be available during chapter five. After you defeat the Emerald Direwolf in this chapter, she will become a part of your party.
Celsus
It’s pretty easy to get Celsus. All you have to do is talk to him in Valure. He will ask you two questions: Is faith important to you? and Why do you want to hire Celsus?
Answer however you want because he will join regardless of your answers.
Macy
During the Master of Power quest, talk to Macy in the inn in Emberglow. She wants to help a sickly child and needs your help. If you purchase a Herb of Fortification at an item shop nearby and give it to her, she will join.
Alexia
Once you are at the public library in Theatropolis, collect the letter fragment. Once you have it, talk to Alexia, entreat her, and she joins.
Viator
Once you have a crested key (either at the start or found in the game) go to the Valore Tavern. As long as you have a crested key, Viator will approach you. All it takes is showing him the key and he’ll join.
Ludo
During chapter three, you have to defeat some Lizardmen in Sunshade. After you defeat them, Ludo becomes a part of the team.
Carinda
Once you finish Carinda’s relief work in Donescu, she will join.
Pius
While in Cragspear, talk to Pius. He is in front of the church and wants to pay his respects. Take him to the graveyard, which will enable him to join you.
Saoirse
After you are done with chapter three, go to the Amphitheatre in Theatropolis. Talk to Saoirse and successfully perform these moves in the correct order: Lightly as a kingfisher, Gaily as a baleful bloom, and fiercely as a fungold.
Xerc
Once you are done with chapter three and find yourself in Grandport, Xerc will be around. He wants you to lend him 10k leaves but don’t get comfortable because there is more to do. Defeat the Immoral Noble once you head to the port and if you win, he joins.
Delitia
At the Tavern in Emberglow, talk to Delitia. If you successfully contend against her, you then need to agree to find her brother. It’s the only way she will join you.
Esperre
In chapter two, you’ll get Esperre once you defeat the Colossal Blightant in Sufrataljah Sands.
Goodwin
In chapter five at Shipwreck Island, Goodwin will agree to join you after you give him Ratatouille and do some inquiring.
Reime
In chapter two at Victor’s Hollow, Reime will become a part of your team once you defeat her at the arena.
Heidne
In Wishvale, you will get Heidne after you defeat Vaughner.
