How to Craft a Beacon in Subnautica 2

In Subnautica 2, marking locations is essential for keeping track of important areas, whether it’s an abandoned base, a resource farming spot, or a point of interest worth revisiting. To do this, you’ll need a Beacon, a handy navigation tool that places a customizable marker on the map so locations are easy to find later.

Beacon blueprints in Subnautica 2

To craft a Beacon, you will need to find two Beacon fragments to unlock the blueprint for it.

Beacon location #1

From the Lifepod, head approximately 120 meters south to find a ruined structure. Once there, use the Scanner to scan the Beacon lying on the ground near the center of the wreck. Scanning it will unlock the Beacon blueprint. Now you’re only one Beacon away from unlocking the blueprint.

Beacon location #2

For the second location, head southeast and travel approximately 135 meters from the Lifepod. Once there, descend to a depth of around 38 meters to find the second Beacon beside a crate and a cluster of Lucifer Rotsac.

To craft a Beacon, you will need to use a Habitat builder and farm the following materials:

1x Titanium
1x Copper

How to use a Beacon in Subnautica 2

Build a Beacon and place it at the location you want to mark. Once deployed, give it a label to easily identify it later, especially if you plan to place multiple Beacons throughout your playthrough. Doing so will automatically create a signal marker, making the location easier to find and navigate back to.

Keep in mind that Beacons are reusable. If you no longer need a marker at a specific location, simply pick up the Beacon and carry it to another area where it can be placed again.

Can you hide a marker in Subnautica 2?

If multiple Beacons start cluttering your screen, open the menu by pressing Tab and navigate to Signals. From there, individual markers can be toggled off to hide them and reduce on-screen clutter.
