The Bioscanner is one of the best upgrades you’ll get in Subnautica 2. It allows you to scan marine life in order to unlock active and passive Biomods that can make your playthrough easier. But to get this scanner upgrade, you’ll have to find it, and with how vast the ocean is, it can be tough to find it yourself.
So with that in mind, here’s how to get a Bioscanner.
How to Find the Bioscanner in Subnautica 2
Players can find the Bioscanner in the Cicada Wreckage where the Iso’s black box is. If you don’t have the signal for it, just follow these directions.
Note that you’ll need a Repair Tool to get this equipment.
- From the Lifepod, travel 1,300 meters to the east. You will find the Research Outpost next to the giant tower.
- From the Research Outpost, face Southeast and travel 500 meters.
- Go to the bottom of the wreckage.
- Use the repair tool to unlock the door.
- Scan the Bioscanner on your left.
Fortunately, you only need to scan one to craft the Bioscanner in Subnautica 2.
How to Craft the Bioscanner in Subnautica 2
To craft the Bioscanner, you will need the Modification Station.
Build a Modification Station in your base and find the following materials:

| Enameled Glass | Using a fabricator; requires 1x Glass and 2x Creature Enamel. |
| Conduit Crystal | Found in Alien Ruins base, around 300 meters deep. |
