Exploring the vast ocean in Subnautica 2 early in the game can feel tedious, especially with the slow starting swim speed. Fortunately, crafting the Wakemaker solves that problem fast. This tool greatly boosts swim speed while also providing built-in lights for better visibility in dark areas.

Here’s how to make a Wakemaker in Subnautica 2, including Wakemaker fragment locations and the full recipe.

Wakemaker Fragments Locations in Subnautica 2

To craft the Wakemaker, players will need to find three Wakemaker Fragments.

Wakemaker Fragment #1 Location

From the Lifepod, swim 95 meters northwest. This Wakemaker fragment is rather easy to find. Look for rock formations with orange coral domes and nearby metal crates. Head near the marked crate and use your Scanner to scan the first Wakemaker fragment.

Wakemaker Fragment #2 Location

For the second fragment location, face north and swim 115 meters from the Lifepod.

Look for an underwater cave with blue lights, desks, crates, and other debris. Swim into the cave and scan the Wakemaker fragment inside.

Wakemaker Fragment #3 location

From the second location, continue swimming 250 meters north until you reach the abandoned base in the Old Habitat.

Enter the base through the hole underneath and move to the next room.

Next to the corridor, you will find the last Wakemaker fragment on the floor. Pick it up to complete the blueprint.

How to Craft a Wakemaker in Subnautica 2

In order to craft a Wakemaker, you’ll need the required materials and a fully functional Fabricator.

A fully functional Fabricator is different from the one in your Lifepod. If you attempt to craft a Wakemaker using it, it won’t allow it. To build a fully functional Fabricator, you will first need to construct a base and place a Fabricator inside it.
