Subnautica 2 Swimming – How to Swim Faster

Subnautica 2

One thing we like to do in video games is go fast. Even though you can’t run, you can actually swim in Subnautica 2. In fact you will be doing a lot of it. Diving and exploring the vast unknown depths of the ocean. Thankfully, there are also ways to swim faster too. Which will, of course, help with quicker navigating and makes hunting and collecting those vital and precious materials so much more easier!

How to Swim Faster in Subnautica 2

One of the most vital resources and equipment that you will need in order to swim faster in Subnautica 2 are the Basic Fins. This recipe is available at the beginning of the game and all you need to collect is Rubber x 2 and Fiber 2 to craft it. It gives you a small boost while you are swimming. Rubber is found from Cradle Shootroot plants and Fiber from Cradle Shootroots.

For the improved bigger boost, keep playing and eventually you’ll get the recipe for Improved Fins. To craft these you need Basic Fins x 1, Fiber Mesh x 1, and Conduit Crystal x 1.

Bio Lab Upgrades

New skills can also be unlocked at the Biolab. Biomods can first be unlocked by accessing the Welcome Center. After powering it, you’ll have access to the Biolab there. There are two main Biomods that affect speed.

  • Dash, which is a active Biomod that lets you dash in any direction so you can avoid enemies.
  • Sea Skimmer is a passive Biomod. When you are near the seafloor or underwater surfaces, you can swim faster.

Equipping the Wakemaker

Finally, you can use the Wakemaker to also help you swim faster. After getting the blueprints you need Silver x 1, Wiring Kit x 1, Grease x 1, and Basic Battery x 1 to craft it. To get the blueprints you need to scan three Wakemaker fragments in the game.

These are the three best methods you can use to swim faster in Subnautica 2!
