Katol Elixirs are Ys the Oath in Felghana items that permanently increase the main character, Adol’s, HP and health. You can buy them from the store, but some are found while exploring. Let’s see how you can collect them all!

How Katol Elixirs Work

Katol Elixirs are consumables that offer you a permanent HP boost when used. Each one gives a +5 HP increase. It might not seem much, but considering there are no other items that boost your HP, finding these elixirs is worthwhile.

Katol Elixirs are optional items, so you might miss them. Five you can find through exploration and one is acquired as a side quest compensation. Should you grab them all, you’ll get a nice +30 free HP bump. Adol doesn’t have a huge HP pool, so this bonus will come in handy when facing powerful bosses in dungeons.

How to Acquire All the Free Katol Elixirs

Here are the locations of the six elixirs and what you must do to obtain them.

Elixir 1 – Illburn Ruins

Make your way to the inner area and take the southern route. Reach the room that traps you inside and clear it. After all the enemies are down, you can collect the elixir.

Elixir 2 – Zone of Lava

Take the Topside fast travel point and head west from its location. Go north and enter the cave, where you will find the elixir. You will need to perform a Double Jump. Don’t bother trying to collect the elixir on your first incursion in this area. Return after you have completed the dungeon.

Elixir 3 – Abandoned Mine

Go to the second mine shaft, make a left, and jump on the ledge. Drop from the ledge to reach the platform where the elixir is.

Elixir 4 – Elderm Mountain

Before you enter the mountain, search the cliff to obtain another elixir.

Elixir 5 – Icebound Cave

Reach the side-scrolling area of Elderm Mountain and look for the elixir outside the Icebound Cave entrance.

Elixir 6 – Helping Hugo

Complete the Helping Hugo side quest that requires you to collect the Berm Leaves from Elderm Mountain. Hugo will reward you with an elixir for helping him. Be careful, as the quest expires after you complete this area.

How to Get More Elixirs

Katol Elixirs are available in unlimited supply at Cynthia’s Shop in Redmont Town. The downside is the hefty price. The first elixir costs 10,000 gold. After buying the first one, you will pay 10,000 gold more each time. So the second elixir costs 20,000 gold, the third one 30,000, and so on.

If you can afford the price, buy as many elixirs as you want, however, you might want to save the money for upgrades.
