Start Randolph’s Ring Side Quest and Collect the Jade Ring

First of all, we must start Randolph’s Ring side quest. The quest becomes available after Adol completes the Abandoned Mine. So, clear the Mine and return to Redmont Town. Make sure you have 260 Raval Ore to spare. Find Randolph at the Inn and interact with him.

During the dialogue, he notices that his ring is missing. He remembers having the ring when he left for Valestein Castle. Randolph will then ask Adol if he has seen his ring. You might think you’ll need to go all the way to the Castle to find it. Don’t bother with that. Instead, find Antonio and sell him a total of 260 Raval Ore. Together with the gold and his gratitude, he will also give you Randolph’s ring.

How he got in possession of the ring remains a mystery. The important part is that you have the item needed for the achievement.

How to Unlock the Oblivious or Insensitive Trophy

There are two ways to miss this trophy:

• Complete Randolph’s Ring side quest by returning the Jade Ring to its rightful owner.
• Complete Elderm Mountains.

Make sure you do neither of those things if you want the achievement.

You’ve collected the Jade Ring, but don’t give it back to Randolph. Instead, go to Cynthia’s Shop in Redmont Town and show her the ring. She is very interested in acquiring the ring.

Agree to sell the ring and you will unlock the achievement and a bonus reward from Cynthia.

There is a way to obtain both the achievement and the reward from Randolph for completing the side quest.

How to Collect the Talisman of War

Should you decide to return the ring to Randolph, he gives you the Talisman of War. This reward is better than Cynthia’s. If you want to clear the game on higher difficulties, opt for the Talisman of War.

If you still want the achievement, save the game after you get the Jade Ring. Sell it to Cynthia and unlock the trophy. Reload the save and give the ring to Randolph to collect the reward.
