Baldur’s Gate 3 – All Party Companion Dialogue / Outcomes (Astarion Reveals He Is A Vampire)
This page will be mainly focusing on the various companion character and party outcome dialogue that occurs during the Astarion Reveals He Is A Vampire
The dialogue will include everything that is presented as a dialogue option, this also includes dialogue that occurs when you fail and win a die/dice roll too.
The page is currently done with only the Early Access currently being available, thus everything is subject to change. I will however, change this page to properly match the dialogue scene when the full version is released. For now enjoy what is said during the particular Early Access patch.
For this page I also decided to include the background behind Astarion and how he turned into a Vampire, plus all of the various character reactions to certain choices
Anyway let us begin!
(NOTE: This was all taken from the Early Access phase of the game)
You can check out my other pages on the various companion and party dialogue below

(Astarion creeps down and begins to feed on the player character)
(Player Character suddenly wakes up from a restless sleep)
ENCOUNTER 1
ASTARION:
…Shit
PLAYER CHARACTER:
Stop!
ASTARION:
- No no – it’s not what it looks like, I swear!
- I wasn’t going to hurt you! I just needed – well, blood.
NARRATOR:
There, in dim firelight, you see him for what he really is; a vampire. A slave to sanguine hunger
PLAYER CHARACTER:
I can’t believe I didn’t see it – we even found the boar you snacked on
ASTARION:
- It’s not what you think – I’m not some monster!
- I feed on animals! Boars, deer, Kobolds – whatever I can get.
- I’m just too slow right now. Too weak.
- If I just had a little blood, I could think clearer. Fight better. Please.
NARRATOR:
A strange sensation courses through you, and your companion’s mind unfolds, secrets half revealed
PLAYER CHARACTER:
Why didn’t you tell me?
ASTARION:
- At best, I was sure you’d say no. More likely, you’d ram a stake through my ribs.
- No, I needed you to trust me. And you can trust me.
PLAYER CHARACTER:
I do. I believe you
ASTARION:
- Thank you. Do you think you could trust me just a little further?
- I only need a taste, I swear
PLAYER CHARACTER:
Fine. But not a drop more than you need.
(Astarion Approves)
ASTARION:
Really? I – of course. Not one drop more.
NARRATOR:
He holds you carefully, delicately. Until he strikes
(Astarion continues to feed on Player Character)
NARRATOR:
It’s like a shard of ice into your neck – a quick, sharp pain that fades to throbbing numbness. Your breath catches, your pulse quickens.
(Player Character lets him continue to feed)
NARRATOR:
You lean into him, losing yourself. You can feel your blood racing, coursing through both your bodies. A gentle, numb feeling starts to spread.
(Player Character lets him continue to feed)
NARRATOR:
You feel a little cold, but that’s all. There’s no more pain, no more fear, no more struggle. It’s all over..
(Player Character Lets Astarion Feed On Player Character)
ENCOUNTER 2
(If you do not let Astarion feed on the Player Character)
ASTARION:
…Shit
(Player Character lashes out with an elbow)
ASTARION:
- Argh! You –
- I wasn’t going to hurt you! I just needed – well, blood.
NARRATOR:
There, in dim firelight, you see him for what he really is; a vampire. A slave to sanguine hunger
PLAYER CHARACTER:
How long since you killed someone? Days? Hours?
ASTARION:
- I have never killed anyone! Well, not for food.
- I feed on animals! Boars, deer, Kobolds – whatever I can get
- But it’s not enough. Not if I have to fight, I feel so weak.
- If I just had a little blood, I could think clearer. Fight better. Please.
PLAYER CHARACTER:
I don’t care how much you need – you’re not drinking my blood.
ASTARION:
- No. No, of course, silly of me to even ask.
- I will go and find something on four legs to eat, I suppose. See you in the morning
(Player Character Lets Astarion Go)
NARRATOR:
You watch him stalk away, slumped, and ready to kill
(Astarion does not feed on the Player Character)
(The morning after the feed)
ENCOUNTER 1
(This occurs if the Player Character allows Astarion to feed on them the night before)
ASTARION:
Good morning. How do you feel?
PLAYER CHARACTER:
I’m fine. I just feel a little woozy
ASTARION:
- It’ll pass. Just be glad I’m not a ‘true’ vampire.
- A bite from them and you might wake up as a vampire spawn, like my good self. All of a vampire’s hunger, but few of their powers.
PLAYER CHARACTER:
Is that how you stand in the sun? Because you are not a ‘true’ vampire?
ASTARION:
- Oh no, I should be cinders in this light. I hadn’t seen the sun for two hundred years before we crashed here
- Someone – or something – wants me alive. They’ve changed the rules.
- Some of the rules, at least. Running water still burns like acid, and I don’t know if I need an invitation to enter a house
- As for my other quirks – well, we can figure those out in time.
PLAYER CHARACTER:
If I can help just ask. We’re in this together.
ASTARION:
- Oh you’re such a sweetheart.
- I’m just glad you are being sensible about these revelations. I was worried people might turn up with torches and pitchforks. Although there is still time.
GALE:
- So we’re travelling with a vampire, are we? Of course we are.
- A word of warning, Astarion; I taste absolutely awful
SHADOWHEART:
- A Vampire? Well that explains the pallor.
- Given our group’s nature, I don’t see much harm. We’re each monsters in the making, after all.
WYLL:
- Hunting with vampires? Never thought I’d see the day
- Very well – but I’m keeping an eye on you. And no wisecracks about having us for supper
LAE’ZEL:
- A vampire among us? So be it
- But should I wake with so much as a drop of blood on my neck, I will end him
- For his sake, he best not develop an appetite for Githyanki
PLAYER CHARACTER:
I trust him. He won’t hurt us.
(Astarion – Approves, Shadowheart – Disapproves, Gale – Disapproves)
ASTARION:
Quite the opposite. I’m here in the spirit of openness and honesty, to work together as a team
GALE:
You say all the right words, but I’m not so sure you mean the right things. Still, I will respect the decision that was made.
WYLL:
I just better not wake with any holes in my neck
SHADOWHEART:
I’d just better not wake in the night to find fangs at my throat.
ASTARION:
- There now. We’re all friends again.
- Shall we go? There’s a long day ahead of us
ENCOUNTER 2
(This occurs if you do not to let Astarion feed the night before)
ASTARION:
Morning. I hope last night’s little unpleasantness hasn’t left a bad taste in your. Well, I hope there are no bad feelings.
PLAYER CHARACTER:
No, but I have questions. How are you standing in the sun?
ASTARION:
Oh, I have no idea. By rights I should be cinder in this light. But someone – or something – is keeping me alive
