Giant Slayer is an Assassins Creed Shadows trophy/achievement that requires you to kill a Guardian. Let’s see what you must do to unlock it!
How to Prepare for the Assassins Creed Shadows Giant Slayer Trophy
Make sure you have the Guaranteed Assassination option on. It is not mandatory, but it will make things considerably easier. When the option is on, Assassination attempts will kill the target even if they still have HP.
To activate the option, go into the main menu and choose Options>Gameplay>Difficulty Tuning. That’s where you can find the Guaranteed Assassination option.
How to Unlock the Assassins Creed Shadows Giant Slayer Trophy
The achievement description says you must “Assassinate a powerful guardian in one go”. You haven’t stumbled on a Guardian enemy so far, and you might wonder where to find them.
How to Spawn a Powerful Guardian
Guardians spawn when the alarm is triggered once you get the Wanted status by alerting the enemies of your presence. Go to Katano Castle in the Izumi Settsu region. Simply start running around until the foes see you. You don’t need to kill them. Save your game progress before in case you get into a fight and die.
One of the enemies will eventually climb the wooden stairs and ring the bell. As soon as this happens, a red notification at the top of your screen will appear, letting you know you have the Wanted status. A Guardian will spawn and start looking for you.
How to Assassinate the Guardian and Get the Giant Slayer Trophy
Guardians are strong enemies, so make sure they don’t kill you.
After the Guardian appears, run out of the courtyard, go up the stone stairs, and jump on the roof. Drop down while holding the ledge and move until you are above the Guardian. You can see its icon through the walls.
Once you are in position, jump back on the roof and the Assassinate action should appear. Activate it to perform a kill from above and unlock the trophy.
