Metroid Prime 4 Beyond – How to Defeat Flight Drone MCU

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond

In Metroid Prime 4 Beyond you have a mini boss called the Flight Drone MCU. Which can be found at the Tower 2 Generator in the Volt Forge. However, don’t go into this fight thinking it’s easy just because it’s a mini boss fight. It can be tricky and, in some cases, literally electrifying.

Just like many other bosses within Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, the Flight Drone also comes with its own protective shield. Which you will need to remove

As you begin the boss fight you will notice that around the drone is a shield which keeps it protected. If you want to bring down the shield, you will need to hit the little red orbs floating around the drone. However, you need to destroy the three spheres at the same time or they regenerate. This can be done by using the control beam.

Once you are able to do this, you’ll be able to damage the drone itself. But you need to find the right moment. When the orbs are spinning around the drone and moving horizontally, get ready to use the control beam by pressing A on the Switch controller. You’ll be prompted to guide the shot around. Hit the glowing pink orbs in this mode, avoiding everything else otherwise you will have to start over.

Keep in mind, it does come with some tricky moves you’ll have to keep an eye on.

  • The enemy does have smaller drones surrounding it so shoot as many as you can.
  • It can launch a laser beam or electrified orbs that you will also need to dodge.

It’s not an extensive list but you do want to try to avoid the different drone attacks the best you can. Remember, it takes just two phases to eliminate this enemy so once you get the hang of it, you’ll be finishing it in no time.

After successfully dodging and killing the drone, the battle will be over. There really isn’t any rewards but at least you can say with confidence that you defeat it! Even if it is rather simple to do so..
