The Stray Dogs is an Assassins Creed Shadows side quest that tasks you with helping Yaya. Let’s see what you must do to complete the mission and unlock Yaya as an ally!
How to Start The Stray Dogs In Assassins Creed Shadows
This optional side mission becomes available after completing the main quest Heads Will Roll in the Act II chapter, Rebuilding. To start the side quest, head to the Fishermen’s District in Osaka, Izumi Settsu and make your way south of the Temple of Osaka.
As you approach Yaya’s location, you will run straight into combat. Assist Yaya by killing the enemies and start the dialogue.
How to Complete The Stray Dogs
After a brief conversation, Yaya will ask for your help. During the dialogue with one of the enemies that Yaya was fighting, you have to make a choice.
You can disregard the notification and choose whichever option you want. The choice doesn’t affect the outcome, so do as you please. Walk with Yaya to the Temple of Osaka and listen to what she has to say.
Find Tetsuo
Yaya wants you to find Tetsuo and collect the kanzashi. Use the scouting system to discover the objective location.
Make your way to Takatsuki Castle and use the rooftops to get close to the quest marker. Jump down on the ledge to cross the courtyard. You will find Tetsuo inside a building. As you interact with him, he will run away and you must chase him.
Catch Tetsuo and Retrieve the Kanzashi – Recruiting Yaya
Runaway Tetsuo has an objective marker, making it easier to stay on his track. You can catch him before he leaves the village, but if you don’t, Yaya will show up and stop him herself. Yaya will then confront Tetsuo and you have to make a choice during their conversation.
Once again, pay no attention to the notification, as it doesn’t really impact the quest progress. The next choice, however, is important.
Pick “Let’s work together” to gain Yaya as an ally. If this is your first ally, you will get the Build Your League trophy. After the conversation, you receive 1000 XP as a reward and the quest ends.
