The Tournament is the Assassins Creed Shadows side quest that unlocks the Test Your Might achievement/trophy. Let’s see what you must do to defeat all the challengers!
How to Start The Tournament
This side quest becomes available in Act II when you play as Yasuke. Progress through the story and defeat 9 out of 12 Shinbakufu. Once they are dead, Gyoji will wait for you outside the hideout. Talk to him to receive the invite to the Ominesanji Temple fighting arena.
Make your way to the arena and interact with Gyoji. To win the tournament, you must defeat five opponents. When you are ready to start, ring the bell.
How to Complete The Tournament and Unlock Test Your Might Trophy
The five opponents you must defeat are:
- Lady Masago.
- Lord Suguru.
- Lord Hokuto.
- Lady O-Sen.
- Lord Unkai.
How to Prepare for The Tournament
The recommended weapon for this fight is a long katana with armor damage and armor piercing boosts. You should equip the Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend. This armor is a reward for defeating The Ox. Go for engravings that boost your HP. Invest points in Combat Expert to have access to Power Dash and Payback skills.
How to Defeat the Five Opponents
Lady Masago
Lady Masago fights with a naginata. She does mid-range attacks. This first opponent will not pose too much of a challenge. Just dodge her attacks and the fight will be soon over.
Lord Suguru
Lord Suguru’s weapon of choice is a katana. The fight is similar to the first one. Dodge and use quick attacks to defeat him.
Lord Hokuto
Lord Hokuto uses his kanbo to deal a lot of damage. This fight is more challenging. You should be able to dodge the red-glowing attacks to avoid taking damage. Hokuto has a large HP bar, so get ready for a lengthy fight.
Lady O-Sen
Lady O-Sen is armed with two poisoned katanas and ranged weapons. Her katana attacks apply a DOT. From a distance, she throws kunai and shuriken. You can avoid and block these ranged attacks.
Lord Unkai
Lord Unkai, the final opponent, wields a katana. Dodge his attacks and, most importantly, try to stay as close to him as possible. If you stay too far, Unkai will drink an HP potion. Don’t give him the opportunity to recover his health.
Return to Gyoji after defeating the last opponent to end the quest and unlock the Test Your Might trophy.
