Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 – Lackey Side Quest

(KCD2) Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Lackey is a (KCD2) Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 side quest that tasks Henry with assisting gamekeeper Vostatek. Let’s see what you must do to complete this mission!

How to Begin the Lackey Side Quest

There are two ways to start the quest:

  • Visit the gamekeeper’s house.
  • Run into the gamekeeper.

If you are also on the Troubadours quest, make sure to complete this side mission first, as you will need help from the gamekeeper later.

Visit the Gamekeeper’s House

The house is northwest of Zhelejov. Talk to the gamekeeper’s wife, Zlata, and learn that her husband is missing. Agree to help and find their son. He is west of the house near the shooting range. He is not keen to see his father and is reluctant to reveal where he may be. You can get the location by completing the Persuasion check or paying 20 Groschen.

Run into the Gamekeeper

You can also start this quest by accident. Once you are in the area, you will hear the gamekeeper shouting. Get close to him and trigger the quest.

No matter how you find the gamekeeper, the first task is to kill the wolves. Mutt is of great help, but Henry can deal with them on its own too. Kill the three wolves and the gamekeeper will get down from the tree. He is drunk and injured and cannot walk on his own.

Take the Gamekeeper to His Camp

Carry Gamekeeper

The gamekeeper will ask Henry to carry him to several locations. His sense of direction is not the best. Luckily, the map markers show you where you must go. However, the task is still tedious as you must carry him on your back. After an unwanted stroll through the woods, you reach Vostatek’s camp to discover that his horse, Pepik, was stolen by bandits. The next step is to get the horse back and kill all the bandits as an optional task.

Lackey – Free Pepik from the Bandits

Stealing the horse is not that difficult, but if you want to defeat all the bandits too, you should prepare before heading for their camp. Make sure you have full energy and HP. Consider getting some consumables as well. There are many bandits to kill. Stealth is the best approach and it’s easier to kill them after dark.

Bandit Camp

The first bandit patrols the path to the left of the camp. You can take him down without the others noticing. Carry his body into the woods. After getting rid of him, spot the bonfire. One bandit will come and sit by the fire. You can get close from behind and kill him silently. Make sure to hide the body. The next target is close to the horse. Wait until he is alone and take him down. The remaining two bandits patrol the area near the second bonfire. You can risk and engage them both at once, or wait until they are far from each other and use the stealth approach. Now, you can free the horse and return to the camp.

Meet the Gamekeeper at His House

Quest End

Once you are back in the camp where the gamekeeper is waiting, dismount and talk to him. You can accompany him to his house or meet him there later. Talk to the gamekeeper’s son and wife to end the quest. As a reward, you will be able to use the stable as a sleeping place. The gamekeeper and his son are skill teachers. Completing this quest will unlock the side quest Bird of Prey.
