In Assassins Creed Shadows one of the potential side quests that is available during the first act is called Sake and Swords. It sees you having to work with Gennojo. Who also happens to be one of the few romance options for Naoe, should that tickle your fancy. This is one of several quests you will need to complete if you plan on romancing Gennojo

Starting The Sake and Swords Romance Quest In Assassins Creed Shadows
The first thing to do is talk to Gennojo in Yamashiro. He can be found south of Byodoin Temple. You will actually find him near Ogura Pond to be more specific. Keep in mind that he’s not exactly at his most sober so it won’t be the most enlightening of conversations
Talk with him and then some samurai will show up. They are not exactly happy with Gennojo and have a bone to pick with the thief. Being the kind and helpful assassin you are, you will have to help him fight these two. After defeating them, you need to speak with Gennojo again.
Afterwards, you will get another quest involving Gennojo called Honor Among Thieves.
Romancing Gennojo
This is a quest that leads to more personal quests with Gennojo. Remember, we mentioned that he is one of the romance options available for Naoe in this game. To continue to put yourself on the path of romance with Gennojo, you need to pick these specific options when you are talking to him.
- The first dialogue option you want to pick is ‘Depends on what you’re offering‘. Choose one of the other two options if you want to pass on a romance with him.
- During your second conversation with him, choose ‘Show me, thief’ to encourage the romance.
This will put you further on the path to being able to romance Gennojo!
