Ys the Oath in Felghana – Illburns Ruins Walkthrough

The Entrance Area

After receiving the Ruins Key, take a moment to upgrade your gear. Illburns Ruins is a demanding area. Once you are ready, follow the path from Redmont to the Ruins until you discover the Travel Monument. Save your game, use the key to unlock the gate, and enter the Ruins. Continue straight and defeat the monsters in your way.

The Eagers pose the most threat. These monsters die in an explosion that can kill you if you are not paying attention. Follow the path to the north, go outside, and continue until you reach the bifurcation. Go northeast and loot the pot for gold. Now, go back and take the other path. Notice the unlit torch on the wall and set it ablaze with a fireball. A platform will rise, but you cannot go up for now.

The Junction

Go outside again and face a new type of monster, Gulgs. Harm these foes by jumping and attacking as you land. They also receive damage from behind. Make your way east and break the pot on the right for some consumables. Head north and then east to the next chamber. You will arrive at a junction.

Southern Path

Take the path leading south and defeat the monsters on your way. Loot the chest to obtain the Small Shield and equip it.

Northern Path

The northern path leads to a chamber where you must defeat all the monsters to loot the chest for Raval Ore.

Eastern Path

Light the three torches on the wall to raise the platform. Light the torch close to the platform to raise another one. Drop back on the floor and loot the Raval Ore from the chest. Now, get back on the platforms and make your way east.

When you reach the intersection, go south, enter the room, and defeat all the enemies. Loot the pot and the chest to acquire a Katol Elixir. Return to the intersection, go east, and then north. At the end of this path, light the torch, and the western wall will open to reveal a chest with Raval Ore.

Deeper Into the Illburns Ruins

Go back to the hallway and take the eastern path to go outside. Continue on the southeastern path and loot the pot. Continue on your way east to reach another junction.

The northern road leads to a pot of gold. So make sure to grab it and you can also find another treasure box containing a Ruby. By taking the more southern road.

By continuing on you will eventually encounter our next boss battle so make sure you are fully prepared for combat!

Defeat Chester in the Illburns Ruins

Return to the junction and go east to discover a Travel Monument. Save your game and move forward to witness the cutscene featuring Father Jean Pierre and Chester. Engage Chester and defeat him.
