Subnautica 2 Axum Bacterial Culture Location And How To Harvest

Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2 Axum Bacterial Culture is a rare and finite crafting material. You will need this resource to craft Metal Farms to duplicate other resources.

Let’s see what you must do to collect it!

How to Harvest Subnautica 2 Axum Bacterial Culture

The Axum Bacterial Culture is one of the most precious crafting resources in the game. It grows in a distant location and you need to make some preparations for the journey. First of all, craft your Tadpole submarine and upgrade it with the depth module. Make sure to bring a Repair Tool in case you need to fix the vehicle. A Sonic Resonator is also highly recommended, should you encounter the bug that causes the resource to disappear after breaking the node.

Where to Find Axum Bacterial Cultures

From the Lifepod, turn east and travel for 2000 meters. Keep in mind that you can upgrade the Tadpole with a Scout Ray Chassis to increase its speed. After passing the yellow water area, you will cross into Leviathan territory. There’s no need to dive just yet, so stay close to the surface to avoid a potential encounter with the deadly beasts. Keep going until you see the tower on the left.

Once you reach the tower, maintain the direction and start diving. You will need to dive to 450 meters. Follow the Angel Comb landmark if you have it. Turn left and keep going towards the green area.

The Subnautica 2 Axum Bacterial Culture is harvested from the yellow pools. The actual material is encased in a round shell. You can break the shell with your hands, but you need to catch the sample to collect it. That’s why you should use a Sonic Resonator. If you don’t have a Sonic Resonator, save your game before breaking the nodes and reload if you lose the sample.

The large pool has three pieces and you can find two more in the small pools nearby. In total, you can collect five pieces. Once harvested, the Axum Bacterial Cultures nodes do not respawn. You cannot replicate this resource using a fabricator, so make sure to collect all five samples.
